I dug some fabric out of my stash, hauled out my sewing macine and went to town. I typically don't follow patterns too closely and this was no exception. My basic measurements (before sewing) were 12" x 11" for the bag. I sewed a line every 3/4" for the crayon "pockets". As for the pretty little posey, I used this super easy pattern. Seriously, sewing on the button was the hardest part of the flower. I'm racking my brain trying to come up with other places to put some of these. I just love them!

The bag holds a 24 pack of crayons and a few standard size coloring books. The crayons fit snug, too! I was a little worried that they would fall out of their little slots. You can actually flip this little bugger upside down and the crayons stay put, definately a bonus that mommy will love.
Can't wait to give this to the little princess. She'll be coming for a visit in a few weeks...SO EXCITED! I offered to make my own daughters their very own crayon bags and they turned me down. Teenagers don't want crayon totes??? Who knew?
Thanks for stopping by and following me! What a cute bag you made, a great way to corral all those crayons! I tried to follow you but Google must be having a problem. I'll stop back by later and try again.
ReplyDeleteNow that is cute! I think I will be making (at least) one of these now, too. Thanks! And I LOVE the flower!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the bag.
ReplyDeleteThanks for following my blog. Very cute bag and the iced coffee recipe sounds absolutely delicious!!
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks for stopping by. Welcome to the world of blogging :) Tote is super cute!! I love that site the flower tutorial is on too, it's one I have bookmarked just for all of those flowers!! btw, can't wait to try the iced coffee. I've been staying up til 3 am finishing up this term and coffee is my recent companion.
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable! Heck, I'm older than a teenager and I find myself wishing for a crayon tote. Lol! I don't use crayons..but I'm sure I could find something to use it for right?
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics you used! Great idea; I've been thinking about doing two crayon roll-ups for my nephews' crayons using quilted placemats {and ribbon that will tie it together}. Similar concept. I just need to find quilted placemats now!
